A few years back I journeyed to Europe to study shoemaking.
In the quiet of old workshops in Italy, Switzerland and France, leather taught me to listen.
My recent creations move between leather and parchment, pulling each out of their expected roles.
I’ve shown pieces at venues such as Kunstraum Kreuzberg (Berlin), McColl Center (Charlotte), Strathmore Mansion (Rockville) and Collarworks (New York). I was awarded a fellowship from Mildred’s Lane, was given the Juror’s Choice Award at the Creative Crafts Council Biennial and received a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council.
